This publication contains the proceeds of the Conference. The Conference consisted of eight formal presentations by leaders in various fields of agriculture, all linked by their interest and experience in the concept of sustainability. During the Workshop, members of the staff in conjunction with a number of collaborators gave semi-formal presentations featuring topical issues concerning biological control in Africa, followed by lively and though-provoking discussions. This led to a series of recommendations that help to clarify many of the issues raised and provide direction for the future of ecologically sound crop management in Africa.
