Figure 11. Hydraulic Lift and Deuterium Tracking Study:Two roots were identified for each shrub at depth of >1m. Roots were severed and immersed in 100 ml vial filled with deuterated water (46 atom %) and sealed. Injected after sunset, when transpiration was the lowest.
