Harvesting seeds enables farmers to avoid purchasing them from others each year. Collecting and saving seeds from tomatoes and members of the cabbage family, both of which favour temperate and colder climates, are explained.

This booklet has been adapted from a Shell Book, "Ideias para guardar sementes" produced in Portuguese by SIL Mozambique, 2006. It also uses material from Footsteps, the literary publication of TEAR Fund, with kind permission. It was originally adapted from the book, "Seed to Seed" by Suzanne Ashworth.
