Profitable Biochar and Styrofoam Cement

Dr. Shafer will talk about his successes organizing profitable small farmer biochar social enterprises and also his newest project to create very low-cost field-to-market cold store systems that allow farmers to grow delicate, high value crops and get them to market in good shape. He uses a cement that we make from ground up styrofoam (thereby solving a recycling problem) and simple air conditioners, instead of expensive refrigeration units. Everything is open source and he will have plans available. He will also have a table to display some of his products.
