This companion volume to Tea Manufacture, by the same author, provides for those in the tea industry concise information concerning the agronomy of the crop.  Introductory chapters outline the physical environment in which the crop grows best are followed by others containing advice, based on experience from the main tea-growing areas, on propagation, planting, pruning and plucking.  The later chapters discuss varying practices in the manuring, irrigation and management of tea soils, the growing of shade trees, the prevention and cure of pest and disease attach, and the organization of labour.  The text also indicates which of these measures have been found to be most productive.
