Alfalfa is a low-growing, nitrogen-fixing perennial, with a strong taproot. Many varieties of alfalfa have been developed for excellent hay and forage. It has long been one of the most important forage species for livestock production.
Ameristand 403T
An extremely high yielding traffic-tolerant alfalfa that can be grazed heavily. Best suited for cooler climates.
Ameristand 803T
Has excellent resistance to pests and traffic, and produces high yields for pasture grazing and hay production. Best suited for cooler climates.
Bulldog 505
Developed at the University of Georgia, this variety is suited to slightly warmer areas than the AmeriStand varieties. It is grazing tolerant and produces good yields of excellent hay. This variety is resistant to Fusarium Wilt and Phytophthora root rot.
