Why Reach One Farmer When You Can Reach One Million

Farm Radio International (FRI), is a Canadian not-for-profit organization at the forefront of using radio combined with other ICTs to increase reach, participation and to give African farming families a voice. We work with local radio stations to develop interactive programs which respond to the information needs of farmers, giving them chance to hear about, discuss and ask questions about improved agricultural techniques. We will present some results from projects in Tanzania, and you will get chance to experience our interactivity methods.

Presenter : Karen Hampson understands that access to timely information on development related issues is one of the major challenges facing citizens in rural Africa. Use of participatory radio approach and mobile phones is definitely a sustainable answer to overcome this challenge.
