Fluid and electrolyte therapy ; Bovine herd vaccination programs The Veterinary Clinics of North America
Allen J. Roussel et al
The first few articles of this issue address renal physiology and acid-base regulation as they apply to cattle. Strong ion difference, a relatively new concept in acid-base balance, is discussed. Good science is wasted, however, if practical application is forgotten. Several articles present the why and hows of administration of fluid therapy to calves and mature cattle. Finally, "special" fluid therapy, including total pertenteral nutrition and transfusion therapy, is covered.
