Vegetables are divided into four major groups: fruit vegetables, leaf vegetables, legumes, and roots and tubers. Each vegetable is discussed using a 22 point system including scientific name and chromosome number, English common name, common names in other languages, edible parts, origin, description, pests, season, harvest, storage, yield, uses, nutritional value, major producing countries, and references.
