Participatory Rural Appraisal and Planning: Workbook
Daniel Selener et al
2 copies
Participatory Rural Appraisal and Planning is a methodology which combines different participatory tools. The approach allows community groups to appraise and analyze their realities, and formulate realistic project proposals based on local needs.
This workbook is based on field experiences facilitated by IIRR in Latin America. Its principal aim is to share a participatory methodology which is both easy to understand and highly practical.
The book focuses on strengthening the capacities of development agency staff, as well as local leaders and community groups, in conducting the participatory research and planning needed to design effective projects.
In addition to Participatory Rural Appraisal tools, a range of techniques derived from other planning methodologies are included. A gender focus informs the material throughout.
