In the past half-century, fruit growing has changed steadily from an activity in which the amateur could compete easily with the professional to one in which only those who were well-grounded in horticultural science and its applications to each fruit could hope to succeed. The present book endeavors to set forth those principles and their applications for citrus growing in a comprehensive but easily understood manner. The authors earnestly hope that it will be read by the professional citriculturist with approval, and that the small grower and homeowner will find it a very real help and guide in modern citrus production in Florida.
