The interdependence of soils, vegetation, and wildlife is a phenomenon now recognized to be of great practical significance. Vegetation, the prime instrument for conserving soil, also affords habitats for wildlife. Intelligent use of vegetation, therefore, perpetuates two fundamental natural resources of inestimable value.
