Warm Heart Foundation is based in Phrao, a mountainous, rural community in northern Thailand, 40 miles (70 kms) north of Chiang Mai.
We are a non-religious, nonpartisan organization dedicated to the idea that every human being has the right to make a healthy and successful life.
We focus on five areas that community members tell us are critical to their future:
- Safe homes for at-risk children
We help children escape the perils of poverty, domestic abuse, child prostitution and alcoholism. - Education
We help children and adults learn computer literacy, English and job skills to succeed in a changing world and move on to higher paying jobs. - Agricultural Innovation
We collaborate with small farmers (65% of Thailand’s population) to develop improved agriculture practices to raise yields and incomes, and to teach environmentally friendly farming practices to sustain fertility for future generations. - Job Creation
We help to provide the business acumen to move beyond poverty. 1/3 of the population lives on $1.50/day or less with average wages of $2.25/day. - Public Health
We help the disabled and elderly living in remote areas to get access to adequate medical care. Patient to doctor ratios can top 13,500:1, not allowing enough medical resources to reach everyone.
