Biographical information: Ken Giller, Professor of Plant Production Systems, Wageningen University - joined Wageningen in 2001 after holding professorships at Wye College, University of London, and the University of Zimbabwe. He currently heads up a multifaceted project, N2Africa, which puts nitrogen fixation to work for smallholder farmers in Africa with the support of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Roland Bunch has worked for 45 years in soil conservation and soil recuperation in developing nations, including short-term consultancies in more than 20 nations in Africa. His book "Two Ears of Corn" has been published in 10 languages with multiple printings in four of them, and the Symposium is proud to inaugurate a revised version of his recent book “Restoring the Soil”. Involved with green manure/cover crops for 42 years, he has spread information about this technology to some 100+ nations through the Cover Crop Clearinghouse (CIDICCO) that he founded in 1989.
