Presented By: Will Austin

Event: ECHO International Agriculture Conference 2019 (2019-11-20)

Session : This presentation will cover ways that Institute for Affordable Transportation (IAT) and its partners have been creating appropriate technology to integrate mechanization into Farming God’s Way (FGW). IAT’s farming history began with food plot implements and then transitioned to conservation farming after receiving training at ECHO. Our goal is to provide tools that help smallholder farmers (specifically those who have mastered manual FGW and FFF techniques) to expand to 5 or 10 acres.

Presenter : Will Austin has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Ohio State. Will worked for various car manufacturers before developing a simple vehicle that could bring transportation to the developing world. In 2000 he began working on designs for the vehicle and founded the Institute for Affordable Transportation soon thereafter.
