This learning document introduces the concept of risk affecting farming activities, the characteristics and main causes, risk implications on farmers’ livelihood and to other major stakeholders in the agricultural system. It is developed specifically for PARM CD2 level training – but it can also be adapted to support similar pieces of training at the country level.
PARM’s CD2 is an interactive 5-day course that targets extension workers, university students, public and private officers, and officials with higher educational background. It aims to provide advanced agricultural risk management (ARM) knowledge to create a pool of local ARM experts to timely advice and train farmers on managing agricultural risks.
