The emphasis in this report is on Africa, but extensive use is made of experiences from other areas and the report's conclusions are therefore applicable to all tropical regions in the developing world. The report is addressed mainly to agroforestry practitioners--both foresters and agriculturalists--of the World Bank and similar institutions, but is should also be useful to researchers invovled in designing new or improved agroforestry ststems and to field staff and others who are implementing agroforestry programs and projects in developing countries.
