Improved use of plant nutrients: report of the expert consultation on better exploitation of plant nutrients held in Rome 18-22 April 1977
Cropping systems, as well as timing, method of application and forms of fertilizer, can influence fertilizer efficiency. Although there are many factors which cause various practices to have different relative importance in different areas, the importance of having an actively growing root system present whenever fertilizers are applied appears to be generally true.
