Capsicum chinense or bonnet peppers are typically very hot including the hottest peppers in the world according to the Scoville scale. These include the habanero, ghost peppers, and bonnet peppers. ECHO also has a unique “Sweet” Habanero that produces peppers that are not hot, although occasionally some fruits will revert to the typical hot pepper.

Caribbean Red

A red, open-pollinated hot habañero pepper. 90 days to maturity. The fruit can grow to about 5cm in length and 2.5cm in diameter, is wrinkled, and matures from green to a stunning red. This is an extremely hot habanero pepper with a Scoville Rating of 445,600 SHUs.

Ensalada

A sweet dooryard variety of habanero from Jamaica selected for the size of its edible leaves which are eaten cooked. More drought resistant that other hot peppers.

Habanero Orange

An early maturing, large, orange hot habanero with fruit 5.5cm long and 2.5cm wide. Scoville rating of 200,000 to 350,000 SHUs.  

Red Mix

A mix of two lines of red sweet habaneros originating in Venezuela and producing somewhat bushy plants reaching 0.9-1.2m in height.

Mae Ai

Especially hot in flavor. Used for making natural pesticides.
 

Craig's Deluxe

Produces a large 5cm heart-shaped orange fruit that is very hot and has an apricot flavor. Has a Scoville rating of 100,000 to 350,000. Edible fruit adds flavor and heat to dishes.
