PARM - Managing Risk at the Farm Level – Slides

PARM’s capacity development (CD) activities aim to improve stakeholders’ knowledge on agricultural risk and increase their management capacities to address all types of risks. These training Slides were compiled to serve as a reference document on the key ideas and information to be presented in an Agricultural Risk Management (ARM) training activity. Specific themes captured in the Slides include the definition of risk, different sources and types of risk, methods of risk assessment according to severity and probability of risk, holistic approach to risk, levels of responsibility, and an overview of risk management tools, strategies and M&E activities.

This document was developed to support PARM’s CD1 activity, which is a 2-day seminar aim at raising awareness and providing basic knowledge on ARM since 2014. CD1 targets mostly farmers and government officers. The overall material can be used for similar pieces of training at the country level, delivered for example by extension workers or practitioners in the field of agriculture.
