This website provides information on some species of parasitoids, predators, and weed insects, including those commonly recommended for use in augmentative biocontrol of crop pests in India. For all the species included, fact sheets in a standard format have been provided. The fact sheets provide details on the scientific name, common name(s) if any, synonyms, taxonomic position, a brief diagnostic description, distribution, hosts / habitat, mass production and release techniques, and selected references. Colour photographs and illustrations of diagnostic characters have been included to facilitate easy identification.
The fact sheets are categorised into six groups - parasitoids, predators, weed insects, invasive pests, potential invasives and beneficial insects. You can access the information for a particular species by clicking on the name.
