This sourcebook is a cirriculum for teachers in developing a garden-based science program. It can be divided into four sections. Breaking Ground, the first section, provides general information about Life Lab and explains why the garden as a "Living Laboratory" provides an important and exciting context for learning science. This section provides valuable information for starting a school garden and incorporating it inot the classroom, and gives suggestions for adapting the Life Lab program to your specific needs and resources. Techniques for managing the class int eh garden and methods for cultivating community support are explapined. The second section is the science curriculumm, which includes both outdoor and indoor activities.
