This book was a fresh of breath air. A thoroughly Bible centered, Christ-honoring examination of environmentalism! Who knew it was possible. Before reading this book I had my doubts that anyone with my theology was thinking and writing about the environment. I wonder no more.

Craig starts by briefly sharing his own journey in life toward his current vocation as an environmental missionary. He then sketches exactly what kinds of problems the environment faces, talking mostly about the places he grew up and currently lives in, Africa.

The third section of the book gives us fourteen Biblical principles or reasons to care for the environment. Christians, Craig Sorley argues, aught to lead our communities in caring for the environment, and the Bible gives us plenty of reasons for doing so. This book doesn't go into specif policies, the politics for global warming, or much nitty-gritty about what care for the environment looks like. Rather Craig shows us how to think about creation--how to approach the whole issue. And care of creation, isn't merely a political issue, or a "social" issue. It is, or aught to be, close to the Christian heart. Creation care is a necessary part of fulfilling the "Great Commandment" and part of completing the Great Commission as well.
