Farms, Trees and Farmers: Responses to Agricultural Intensification
J.E. Michael Arnold et al
This book had its origins in a research project at the Oxford Forestry Institute that was initiated in order to establish a better understanding of how tree management contributes to the strategies of farmers as they respond to pressures to adapt their use of land and other resources to changing circumstances. It brings together the results of the work of a number of researchers who have been examining changes that have beeen taking place in different situations within Eastern Africa and South Asis, two regions where tree growing figures prominently both in farmer practices and in government and donor programmes.
