Many thanks for the information on how to get bats out of the attic (EDN 66-4). We tried the suggestion of hanging plastic over the openings where the bats were getting in, so that they can get out but not back in. It worked! After a few days we took the plastic down and found a way that we could screen the main area where they had been entering, and block a few other entrances with steel wool. One end of our house is completely bat-free now. We plan to put the plastic on the other end of the house tomorrow.
