The study in Borichaworeda, Sidama Zone, Southern Ethiopia examines socio-economic, household related, technological and institutional factors affecting conservation agriculture in the study area. The overall finding of the study emphasizes the high importance of economic support in providing agricultural inputs as incentives in a sustainable system and institutional support in providing comprehensive trainings and consultancy services of extension agents so as to enhance adoption of conservation agriculture.
Presenter: Frew Berisu has worked with the Ministry of Agriculture, local and international NGOs in various capacities of conservation agriculture and program management background over the past 10 years. He has studied and graduated with B.Sc. Degree in Animal and Rangeland Sciences and with M.Sc. Degree in Rural Development at Mekelle and Hawassa Universities, respectively. He is currently a Conservation Agriculture Technical Specialist in Ethiopia for Canadian Foodgrains Bank.
