The object of this publication is to illustrate a method deriving the best production periods for given crops from minimal amount of environmental information. The required data can generally be found for most locations, even in the tropics. Where exact data is lacking the relative magnitude or pattern of the annual fluctuations in the selected parameters can be used to perform the same type of analysis described in this paper.
