It is the purpose of this book to describe in detail the basic principles of nutrition; to record and discuss the current knowledge concerning energy, protein, amino acids, vitamins and essential inorganic elements; to indicate the various known nutritional interrelationships; and to demonstrate the scienfitic application of this knowledge to the optimum nutrition of the chicken in the research laboratory and to the scientific feeding of chickens on a commercial, least-cost basis.
