The vegetable farming in Qatar is still at its early stage of development and many aspects need to be improved before this phase of agriculture can rely on itself. The main targets for the local vegetable industry should be:--to ensure a local source of food supplies for the longest period possible, to increase the income from agricultural activities, and to make better use of soil, water and available human resources.
